38 weeks

So here I am at 38 weeks pregnant. I am feeling very big and getting very uncomfortable. At this point it seems almost impossible to sleep. I wake up at night mostly because I can't find a comfy position or I'm hungry of my mouth is so dry I can barely breath. I have to admit though I have enjoyed this pregnancy the most. I think because I know this is my last which I feel sad and happy about all at the same time. I feel so excited to finally meet this baby but at the same time I am holding on to every moment with her in my belly. Feeling every movement and kick is such an incredible feeling that I have learned to cherish. I will miss being pregnant but I'm so looking forward to the opportunity of raising a daughter.

Almost Famous

on April 15th Mike and Griffin were on the front page of the Calgary herald. It was a picture of them shoveling all that snow that had fallen the day before. Mike saw the lady taking pictures from a ways away and wondered what she was doing. When he approached her she explained who she was and if it was o.k that she take a picture of them shoveling. So sure enough in Thursday's paper there they were front and center. Griffin was pretty excited to be on the paper and even got a few phone calls from family saying they had seen his picture. We'll definitely be keeping the picture to look back on in years to come.

spring storm

On April 14th we woke up to this crazy spring storm. When we woke up in the morning it was really blizzardy out. The wind was blowing like crazy and the snow had drifted over our driveway. I thought for sure the school would be closed and after a phone call from Griff's bus driver saying there were no buses running we decided to keep Griffin home. Mike started to shovel the driveway and it didn't take long before neighbors were getting stuck in the deep snow and he was right there to help. About an hour later by 9am it had stopped snowing and the wind had died down. We decided that Griff should go to school after all. So after getting him ready, with a few tears I might add, Mike drove him to school. Later that morning the snow had already started to melt and the forcast called for plus 10. I guess this is what we are used to living in southern Alberta.

Baby Bumps

This is me at 36 weeks pregnant and my sister Rhonda at 26 weeks pregnant. I never would have guessed that we would be pregnant at the same time. It has been really fun to talk about baby things together and share different things that we are experiencing in pregnancy. I'm excited that our babies will be so close in age too.

Baby Girl room

We were so excited when we found out we were having a girl. One of my first thoughts was how am I going to decorate the room. I had some ideas in mind as far as color and decor but I wanted it to be perfect. I knew this was going to be my last baby and not to mention my only girl. The room had to be just right. Mike and the boys helped me paint and put up the chair rail. We made it a family event. My sister Rhonda helped with the finishing touches. Not only am I so excited for this baby but the boys cant wait to have a sister and I'm pretty sure Mike is thrilled to have a daughter. I hope that Sydnee likes the room as much as I enjoyed decorating it.

Zoo trip

Rhonda came to visit us for a few days during spring break so we thought it would be fun to go to the zoo. On Wednesday the 7th 2010 we headed to the zoo. It was a really nice day and we all had a great time seeing the animals. Rhonda and I were pretty tired after walking around for the afternoon but having big bellies didn't help. We all had a great visit with Rhonda, I know the boys love when she comes.

Easter 2010

We headed down to Magrath on Thursday night to celebrate the Easter weekend. On Friday we went swimming with Kyle, Kate, Levi, Katie and Grandma Harker. That was a lot of fun and the boys had a great time. After swimming we headed home to color Easter eggs which the boys had fun at for a little while but don't last to long doing any kind of crafty type things. The rest of the day was spent playing outside with Paden and Morgan. On Saturday we spent some time with Grandma and John. My Mom and I made some cute pictures for Sydnee's room. That afternoon Heather, Kate, Levi and I headed into Cardston for the sale at the book store. The evenings always end with a nice soak on the hot tub which everyone enjoys especially my boys. On Sunday morning The Easter bunny sent the boys on a treasure hunt to find their baskets. They had a great time finding all the clues that led to the baskets in random places. After watching conference we then went outside for an egg hunt in the back yard. The boys gathered lots of treats and were happy to share with the adults. We then had an awesome turkey dinner which led to an awesome nap afterward. Later that day we took the boys out to Jensens Dam to hike around while throwing rocks into the water. We needed them to burn off some energy which they surely did. Again the evening ended with a hot tub. On Monday morning we packed up and headed out but before leaving for home we stopped in Lethbridge for lunch with Dani, Mom, and John. We had a great Easter weekend with family and what can be better than that.
