T-Ball

Griffin and Aidan have been in T-ball this spring and I think they have really enjoyed it. Every monday night we make it a family night and we all go watch them. Mike got right in there and helped couch a couple of times. Mason enjoyed playing on the park more than watching. I guess Sydnee and I were the cheerleaders. Most T-ball nights were cold but we still enjoyed getting out to cheer them on. Usually T-ball was followed by an ice cream from Dairy Queen or a slurpee from the gas station which I think was our favorite part.

Blessing Day

Sunday June 20th was a special day for our family. Not only was it Father's Day but it was Sydnee's blessing day and it was along time coming. We were set to have her blessed on June 6th but Mike ended up getting pneumonia that weekend so we had to postpone until the next week. Then Briggs was being blessed that Sunday so we decided to try for the following Sunday. Finally the day came and we were able to go forward with it. Sydnee's dress was not an easy task either. The dress that I had originally for her that Mom had crochet was now to small for her. So I searched the stores for a simple white dress finally finding one from Old Navy that was to big. Then Mom went to Cardston and found one but after trying it on her I didn't like it. It was to stiff and uncomfy for her. Finally a week before the blessing day Mom found a pattern for a blessing dress and decided she could make it in a weeks time. The dress turned out exactly how I had imagined. Made with soft cotton with tiny pleats and silk ribbon. It was perfect. I think Mom made about 4 different pairs of shoes for her too. But in the end I ended up wearing the original pair on her which were a little small but stayed on her feet the best. The day started with everyone meeting at our house before we all headed over to church. When we got there Mike said he was starting to get nervous but he did a really great job giving the blessing. We had lots of family there. Grandma and Grandpa Kimberley, Grandma and Grandpa Harker, Grandma Great, Ginny, Russ and their kids, Kyle, Kate and Levi, Katie and Jantz. Also Melissa and her kids, and Fosa, Janice and their kids and Dani. After Sacrament meeting we all headed back to our place for a BBQ. There was lots of food and lots of visiting. It turned out to be a really great day. We have been so blessed to have Sydnee in our family. She was certainly an answer to a lot of planning and a whole lot of prayers.

Baby Birkley

On June 16, 2010 we got a new baby cousin. Birkley Ila Sproxton. Her proud parents are Rhonda and Denis. Birkley was diagnosed with Down syndrome. At first we felt very sad when we heard but the more Mike and talked about it we realized she was meant to be. On Saturday the 18th Mom, John, Dani, Shelby, Sydnee and I were able to go up to Red Deer to see her. She was so cute and so small, weighing only 5 lbs. She was still in an incubator so we were unable to hold her but just seeing her brought so much joy to me. We know that she is here as part of a great plan and I know this will be a great learning experience for all of us. She is such a precious soul that was sent into this family and especially to Rhonda and Denis for a reason. I know that they will be the best parents to her because they are both so patient and loving with children. I hope that her and Sydnee will be great friends since they are only 7 weeks apart. We are so happy for Rhonda, Denis and Isiah who have this new baby girl in their family.

Griffin lost a tooth

Griffin's first loose tooth had been loose for at least a month. The new tooth had already started to come up behind the baby tooth. We all tried pulling it out but it was really stuck in there. Even Grandpa Harker tried to pull it out. Finally on June 15 he came home from school so excited. Out of his back pack he pulled a baggy with a little white tooth in it. He was so happy. He said that he bumped it at school while out for recess and it came out. That night he put the tooth safely under his pillow in antisipation for the tooth fairy to come. In the morning much to his surprise there was a toonie in the baggy. He was very pleased. Now for many more loose teeth to come.

Mason's gymnastics

Mason took the spring session of gymnastics and loved every minute of it. This was his first time doing gymnastics. He was pretty excited now that it was his turn and he didn't just have to sit and watch his brothers. I think his favorite part was the trampoline which he was pretty good at. I will definitely have to put him in it again.
